Siblings with differing levels of education, I want to hear from you!

This study investigates relationships among siblings who have different levels of educational attainment.

I am Dr. April Burns, a faculty member at Guttman Community College at the City University of New York (CUNY), and I am interested in speaking with people who have a sibling (or siblings) with significant differences in education than them (for example, you didn’t go to college but your sibling did). I am especially interested in talking to siblings without a college degree. Participation involves talking about your experiences growing up, going to school and your relationship with siblings (e.g., How are you alike or different? What do you and your siblings talk about or do together? What experiences do you share?).

Not a lot of research has focused on adult siblings. You can help fill this gap in our knowledge by participating in an interview (by zoom, phone, or in person). Participants who are selected will receive a $60-$75 gift card (depending on the length of interview).

CLICK HERE to see if you fit the parameters of the study by answering a few eligibility questions (under 3 minutes). Your answers will be anonymous and won’t be saved. Answering these questions does not obligate you to participate, just that you meet the requirements of this particular study.
